A busy couple days....

The General
Sorry for not posting last night.  For some reason it would not let me publish.  Technology…who knows why.  After a week of birthdays for Lil’Bit - multiple family members that don’t get along-  we are worn out. We have one more planned for Saturday, then it’s 361 more days till she has another round on birthdays.   I probably will not get much crafting done tomorrow.  I  know that it is getting closer and closer to Christmas. The holiday crafting is in its count down.  Anyway yesterday and today I have worked on :

“The General” from For the Love of Cross Stitch

Woven Indian Dishcloth from the Yahoo Group - Cloth of the Week.

Computer Bag –I just keep working on the big sides. I will have a pattern available once it is complete.

“Count on It” Cross Stitch Quick & Easy - my Oldest UFO – SAL.  Is now on the frame I wasn’t able to get the wrinkles all out, but it will work.   I think that I stopped working on it because I was using the wrong floss.  It has been a LONG LONG time since I did anything with it so I don’t remember.

I am also working on a few Barbie clothes and items. I am hoping to have some done and the designs up on the site by Tuesday October 8, 2011.

Started working on my Sister’s Christmas present (original design)

Boyfriends blanket is coming along GREAT! I like the colors he picked… RED, WHITE, & BLUE.  I’m still trying to figure out how big to make it-full or queen.  He drives truck so I want to make sure he is warm during the winter and has enough to wrap up in.  What do you think - Full or Queen?
While searching the files in the Yahoo Group- Illusion Knitting. I found a dragonfly scarf that I like.  I think I have an aqua/teal and black wool in my stash that will work out beautiful.  I’m thinking Christmas to myself.
I know there a KAL’s, CAL’s, & SAL’s  in my Yahoo Groups that have come out in the last couple weeks.  I’m going to most likely cast on this weekend.   Or at least line them up for starting.  I believe that I will retry the ‘Apple Cloth’ that Lil’Bit frogged for me. (SEE HERE)

Costumeing Again...

I'm slowly but surly working on the computer bag.  I finished the side/bottom portion. For the measurements I took the longest part of the computer and tripled it.  That gave me about 10" for the felting.  That should be enough... I hope the yarn all felted differently.  Now onto the sides.. MATH MATH MATH.  Glad I like MATH.    I cast on 45 stitches and just hope my math was okay.  Thats the risk we take when designing a pattern -- trail & error with hopefully little error.

Lil'Bit's costume is almost done I'm not going to do the cloud until tomorrow I wanted to make sure little hands don't wreck what I have done. She loves the halo and wants to keep playing with it.

If there is something you would like to see let me know.  Im open to any suggestions on what items you want to see done.

MonthlyDishcloths (MDC) - KAL - Coffee Coaster

I completed the first KAL on MonthlyDishcloths. It went very quickly.  I didn't find a file with the whole KAL in the postings. So the messages are as follows -  #99, #141, #164, #187, #196.  Did some more work on The General,  and a few inches on the computer bag .
I received my September 2011 issue of Creative Knitting.  There are quite a few items that I want to do, but which one do I start with.

Don't forget to subscribe and leave comments.  If there is anything that you want to see just let me know.

MonthlyDishcloths - Yahoo Groups

I belong to the yahoo group MonthlyDishcloths. I'm going to go thru EVERY KAL that is in the group.  I will also do the patterns that are going to be added.  The group started in 2005 - that is a lot of patterns to go thru a good challenge for me.  Looking thru all the posts I found the first KAL - Coffee Coaster. It only uses about 25 yards of cotton yarn (good scrap user) and size 8 needles.  Now I just have to figure out what color to use. I think I will just stick my hand in the scrap tote and grab a skein/ball and go from there. --- I grabbed a ball of Peaches & Cream #194 York Town.  I love the way the colors remind me of Americana.  I'll work on it later tonight and show y'all tomorrow.

Also today I worked on my felted computer bag adding over 15" to the sides/bottom. I cant wait for it to be done.  I lost my last computer bag during a move... I think my truck ate it.

Felted Computer Bag

I'm going to start off with posting the project that I have currently in my knitting basket.
I started out with some yarn that I had received off of freecycle.  IT is a mix of unknown skeins and some 100% virgin wool from Kmart Brand color 599 winter white, 2 skeins of Alafoss Lopi, hespu-lopi  from Iceland in a milk chocolaty color,  from Southern yarn dyers - cream and grey 3ply going to separate the plys , and a Dark Grey, and a tan and brown unknown that both feel like a wool.   I’m just going to grab 4 of the colors and just knit in garter stitch changing colors as I go. I want a tweedy look once I’ve felted it. I CO 10 using a long tail cast-on and 9mm (US13) knitting needles.  Going to make the small sides, bottom and handle all at once. (long scarf).

The Materials
I have been working on it off and on for a few hours and have completed about 10" of the 'scarf' I will post more pictures as I go with this project.  I'm hoping to have this completed and felted by Thanksgiving.   Tomorrow I'm going to be working on a blanket for my daughter that I will be giving her for Christmas and maybe some cross-stitching.
